Phil George 2001- Creative Director, Green Bay
Founded Green Bay Media Limited with John Geraint, to return closer to production with substantial film and television projects in drama, documentary and the arts. Green Bay has rapidly established itself as a leading independent producer with a large slate of commissions for major screen projects. Phil George was Green Bay's Executive Producer for the 6-part international series Rivers and Life. He has also been Executive Producer of two BAFTA Cymru-winning history series presented by the BBC's top news anchor, Huw Edwards. Phil has presented 50 half-hour in-depth radio interviews (Value Judgments) for BBC Radio.

1997-2000 Head of Arts, Music and Features, BBC Wales
Led a department of 90 staff, making programmes across a wide range of genres for BBC network, BBC Wales, S4C, network radio, Radio Wales and Radio Cymru. Department included the BBC’s Centre of Excellence in Music, renowned for its innovative approach in television and radio. Major documentary awards included RTS Best Regional Programme twice. Led a substantial growth in factual output for network television, especially in landscape programmes.

1991-1997 BBC Series Editor / Executive Producer
Commissioned and edited documentary strands, working with in-house and independent producers, across the arts and factual areas. Edited and produced over 40 arts documentaries. Executive produced for BBC 2 a major international co-production on resurgent nationalism around the world, Blood and Belonging, which won the Silver Hugo at the 1994 Chicago International Film Festival. Built a strong tradition of drama-documentary in the arts, including the Celtic Festival award-winner Pentre Mud.

1986-1991 BBC Television Producer
Produced and Directed documentaries for Everyman and for BBC Wales. Twice produced Children In Need. Produced chat-shows and studio discussions.

1982-1986 BBC Radio Producer
Specialised in arts production and presenting. Produced numerous factual magazine and daily topical strands. Presented Songs Of Praise for network television.

1974-1981
English teacher at two comprehensive schools. Open University tutor. Arts reviewer for The Guardian. Radio broadcaster. Arts and Unemployment project co-ordinator.

Married to the arts administrator and political researcher, Ceri George since 1979. 3 children. Lay preacher, church deacon, member of United Reformed Church’s Communications Committee.
